Merchants reported on a markedly restrained demand. Contracts were only closed for the most necessary and immediate need.
The spinning industries obviously await the further price development and currently do not worry about limited availabilities.
The following contracts were closed:
Medium staple cotton: West African descriptions were traded for prompt delivery. East African and Argentinean cotton were ordered for the beginning of the 3rd quarter 2013, Spanish rgd. for the 3rd and 4th quarter 2013.
Long and Extra-long staple cotton: Sudan Barakat was sold for prompt delivery.
