Swedish automobile manufacturer Volvo Car Group has reported global sales of 37, 945 vehicles in November 2013, up 5.8%, compared to sales of 35, 864 vehicles during the same period in 2012.
In China, the carmaker reported sales of 5,995 cars in November 2013, up by 69.4%. Of all the vehicles sold in the country, the Volvo XC60 registered high sales with 2,673 cars.
European sales of the carmaker have also increased by positive developments in several markets including Italy and Spain, compared to the last year.
Of all the European sales, the Netherlands represents the majority sales with Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid and the Volvo V40 leading the market. The carmaker also increased sales in Sweden.
However, Volvo has reported retail sales of 4,233 cars in the US, a decline compared to the sales during the same period in 2012.
Volvo Cars marketing, sales and customer service senior vice president Alain Visser said that they have now reported global growth during five consecutive months and they are also showing year-to-date growth versus last year.
"Sweden and China are very strong, Europe shows a positive trend and in the US we now have the right tools to get back on track," Visser added.
