According to statistics released by the Chinese customs, China exported 1.52 million tons of stainless steel flat products in 2012, decreasing by 8.9% from a year ago.
Among them, the stainless steel flat products exported to Taiwan were at 477,814 tons, decreasing by 10.2% and those made to Korea was at 237,771 tons, rising by 13.8%, both compared to those in a year ago.
In December alone, China’s exports of stainless steel flat products totaled 156,035 tons, down slightly by 0.5% from a month ago while soaring substantially by 65% year on year.
Meanwhile, the country’s imports of stainless steel flat products amounted to 608,450 tons in 2012, decreasing by 15% year on year.
In addition, China imported 48,450 tons of stainless steel flat products in December, down by 5.7% year on year.
