From January to September In 2015, EU’s imports & exports volume was USD 2936.42 billion, down 14.3% by year according to Eurostat. The exports volume was USD 1490.42 billion, down 12.7% and imports volume was USD 1446 billion, down 15.8%. The trade surplus was USD 44.41 billion. The trade deficit was USD 11.02 billion in the same period of last year.
In September, EU’s imports & exports value was USD 330.46 billion, down 14.4% by year. Exports value was USD 167.94 billion, down 13.7% and imports value was USD 162.52 billion, down 15.0%. The trade surplus was USD 5.42 billion, up 61.6%.
From January to September, Imports & exports value between EU and China was USD 426.83 billion, down 7.4%. EU’s exports value was USD 140.33 billion, down 13.7%. It accounted for 9.4% of EU total exports, down 0.1%. EU’s imports from China reached USD 286.5 billion, down 3.9%. It accounted for 19.8% of total imports, up 2.5%.
EU trade deficit with China was USD 146.16 billion from January to September, up 7.9%. China is the largest deficit source for EU.
Up to September, China has become the second largest market for EU exports and the largest import source of EU.
