The Total Price-Adjusted Value of New Orders in The German Construction Industry Down 5.3%

As reported by the German Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), in July this year the total price-adjusted value of new orders in the overall German construction industry decreased by 5.3 percent year on year, with a 2.7 percent decrease in the building construction sector and a 7.7 percent decline in the civil and underground engineering sector, both year on year. In the given month, the total turnover in the overall German construction industry amounted to €6.2 billion, indicating a decrease of 1.9 percent compared to July 2013.

Meanwhile, in the first seven months of this year, the total price-adjusted value of new orders in the overall German construction industry rose by 0.4 percent year on year. During the period in question, the total turnover in the overall German construction industry amounted to €33.6 billion, indicating an increase of 9.7 percent compared to the same period of 2013.
