Liu Jianxun, general manager of Jiangxi Province-based steel producer Pingxiang Steel (Pinggang), has announced that the company’s sales revenue in 2012 amounted to RMB 38.3 billion ($6.14 billion), while its net loss for the year was RMB 1.2 billion ($192.3 million). In addition, its outputs of pig iron, crude steel and finished steel in the given year totaled 8.6 million mt, 9.12 million mt and 9.08 million mt respectively.
Mr. Liu also said that in 2013 Pinggang is targeting a sales revenue of RMB 40 billion ($6.41 billion) and a net profit of RMB 450 million ($72.11 million). He added that in 2013 the company is targeting a pig iron output of 9.15 million mt, a crude steel output of 9.72 million mt and a finished steel output of 9.63 million mt.
