Total assets of joint-stock banks hit CNY 2.601 billion at the end of August, growing 22.5% over a year earlier, up 0.4 percentage points over the growth in July and accounting for 18.4% of total assets of banking institutions, according to China Banking Regulatory Commission.
Total liabilities of joint-stock banks hit CNY 24.55 trillion, growing 22.7% over a year earlier and accounting for 18.6% of total liabilities of the banking sector.
Total assets of city commercial banks hit CNY 13.67 trillion at the end of August, growing 20.1% over a year earlier, up 1.7 percentage points over the growth in July and accounting for 9.7% of total assets of banking institutions. Total liabilities of city commercial banks hit CNY 12.75 trillion, growing 20% over a year earlier, up 1.8 percentage points over the growth in July.
