German Metal Manufacturing,a 1.3 Percent Rise in Foreign Sales.

In November 2012, the seasonally and working-day adjusted turnover in the German manufacturing industry fell by 1.1 percent compared to the previous month, following a revised month-on-month decrease of 0.5 percent in October, according to the preliminary data reported by Germany's Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).

In November, the greatest month-on-month turnover increase in the German manufacturing sector was observed in the manufacture of motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts with a rise of 1.6 percent. In the motor vehicles and motor vehicle parts segment, in the given month there was a 2.2 percent increase in domestic sales and a 1.3 percent rise in foreign sales.

In November, the turnover of German metal and metal product manufacturing decreased 1.3 percent as compared to October, with domestic sales decreasing by one percent, while foreign sales were down by 1.6 percent, month on month. On year-on-year basis, German metal and metal product manufacturing turnover rose by 0.8 percent in November, with domestic sales increasing by 3.4 percent, while foreign sales were down by 3.5 percent.

Meanwhile, in November a slight 0.4 percent month-on-month decrease was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products, with domestic sales decreasing 0.5 percent and foreign sales down by 0.1 percent, both compared to the previous month. In the month in question, the turnover in manufacture of fabricated metal products fell by 3.6 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, while domestic sales were down by 2.9 percent and foreign sales declined by 5.1 percent.
