Japan's Export of Oil Products Slid 3.7% to 2.95 Million Barrels Over March 3-9

Japan's export of oil products slid 3.7% to 2.95 million barrels over March 3-9, from 3.06 million barrels in the previous week, data released Wednesday by the Petroleum Association of Japan showed.

Middle distillates at 1.88 million barrels accounted for 63.6% of the total oil product exports in the week ended March 9.

Jet fuel exports slid 6% to 679,169 barrels in the week to March 9, while gasoil exports jumped 45.9% to 1.17 million barrels from a week ago.

Exports of A-fuel oil -- a blend of gasoil and fuel oil in a 90:10 ratio -- were 30,066 barrels over March 3-9, down 88.8% from a week ago.

High sulfur fuel oil exports fell to 758,241 barrels over March 3-9, down 23.6% from the previous week. Japan did not export any low sulfur fuel oil in the week.

Gasoline exports were 293,762 barrels in the week to March 9, up 5.4% from the previous week.

Meanwhile, Japan imported 480,833 barrels of LSFO over March 3-9, down 64.4% from 1.35 million barrels a week earlier. The country also imported 231,988 barrels of HSFO in the week to March 9, down 72.5% from 844,879 barrels the week before. PAJ import data covers only fuel oil.
