According to the data released by the Japan Ship Exporters' Association (JSEA), Japanese new ship export orders in November this year decreased by 72.2 percent on tonnage basis compared to October but declined by 72.7 percent year on year, amounting to 10 ships, down from 17 ships recorded in October, totaling 338,750 gross tons, consisting of 10 bulk carriers. In November 2013, Japan's new ship export orders had totaled 36 ships amounting to 1.24 million gross tons.
In the January-November period this year, Japanese shipbuilders received new export orders for a total of 312 ships with an aggregate of 13.63 million gross tons, increasing by 12.2 percent year on year.
On the other hand, in November this year Japan delivered 14 ships for export, totaling 618,346 million gross tons, decreasing from 27 ships totaling 1.44 million gross tons recorded in October. In November 2013, Japan's new ship deliveries for export had totaled 22 ships with 1,069,183 gross tons. Meanwhile, in the first 11 months of this year, Japan delivered 263 ships for export, totaling 11.25 million gross tons, decreasing by 7.3 percent year on year.
