According to France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies, in September this year, the turnover in France's manufacturing industry decreased 2.7% month on month, following month on month rises in the previous two months. Exports of France's manufacturing sector decreased by 4.2% month on month in September, after the 2.8% increase registered in August compared to July.
In the third quarter of the year, the turnover in France's manufacturing industry increased one percent over the previous quarter and was up 1.3% compared to the same quarter of 2011. Exports of France's manufacturing sector in the third quarter were stable compared to the previous quarter, while they were up 2.3% year on year.
In September of the current year, turnover in French manufacture of coke fell by 4.2%, while the turnover in French metal and metal product manufacturing decreased by 4.9% both compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, a 3.6% month on month increase was recorded in the turnover in manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers. In September, the turnover in the country's automobile industry fell 6.8% month on month, while the turnover in the French construction industry decreased by 2.8% compared to the previous month.
Meanwhile, in the third quarter of the year the turnover in French metal and metal product manufacturing decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous quarter. The turnover in the country's automobile industry in the third quarter rose by 0.6% while the turnover in the French construction industry increased by 0.2% both on quarter on quarter basis.
