Cape Lambert Resources Released a Statement About Federal Police Raids

Cape Lambert Resources has released a statement about federal police raids on its chairman Tony Sage's offices. The Australian Federal Police raided the offices of several companies associated with the businessman and Perth Glory owner.

Officers spent several hours in the buildings which house both the Perth Glory offices as well as offices for Cape Lambert Resources.

The company said that it believes the warrants are not related to its business and that it has fully cooperated with the AFP and will continue to do so.

Mr Sage is the executive chairman of the mining company which was placed in a trading halt earlier this year as it negotiated a multi million dollar tax debt with the tax office. It is unclear whether the two matters are related.

An AFP spokesman said that a number of search warrants were executed on commercial and residential premises in Perth and Sydney as part of an ongoing investigation in partnership with agencies including the Australian Tax Office and Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
