The Volume of The Mobile Shopping Market in China Reached 34.1 Billion Yuan

The volume of the mobile shopping market in China reached 34.1 billion yuan (5.59 billion U.S. dollars) in the third quarter of 2013, a major tech industry analyst said on Tuesday.

The figure indicated a 17.1-percent quarter-on-quarter increase, and a 104-percent increase compared to that of the corresponding period in 2012, according to a report released by Analysys International.

Taobao, China's leading online retail platform, maintained its top position with about 80 percent of the mobile shopping market, followed by e-commerce site Jingdong with 8.7 percent.

The flourishing mobile shopping market was boosted by e-commerce mobile client applications, according to the report.

Traditional price wars don't help e-commerce enterprises to cultivate loyal customers, and businesses should make the best use of smart terminals, which can provide customers with more convenient service, said the Analysys report.
