Malaysia's ruling coalition has won the General Election held on May 5th, retaining its 56-year hold on power. Influenced by the election however, the Malaysian steel market moved slowly these days. Most traders are watching the market cautiously and waiting to see the new government's stimulant policies to be issued. It is believed that the price will increase as projects suspended before the election will restart and the demand is likely to release in the following weeks. The current import price for ASTM A106 SCH40 from China remains temporarily stable at US$905/ton in the country.
