Ukraine Metallurgical Suppliers need 6.7 Million tons of Scrap Metal in 2013

Metallurgical business industry association announced, metallurgical enterprises in Ukraine in 2013 need 6.7 million tons of scrap metal.

Metallurgical business industry association and the Ukraine Metal Recycling Association formulated the balance sheets of scrap metal needs, and submitted to the Ministry of Trade of Ukraine's economic development. According to the balance sheet, the supply of scrap metal in the domestic market in 2012 was 750 million tons, and the export volume was 90 million tons. The Balance Sheet was developed on the basis of Ukraine's steel output in 2012 of 36.6 million tons.

In January 2013, the supply of scrap metal of metallurgical down 39.6%, a decrease of 168,000 tons to 256,000 tons, accounting for 62% of the metallurgy business demand in the balance sheet. At the same time, the decline in stocks of metallurgical enterprises of scrap metal was 90,000 tons, about 10 million tons to February 1.

Previously it was reported that the supply to Ukraine metallurgical scrap metal in 2012 was 4.98 million tons, a decrease of 26% year-on-year, accounting for 86% of the balance sheet of demand. In addition, in 2012, the production of pig iron metallurgical enterprises in Ukraine fell 1% to 28,513,000 tons; steel production fell 7% to 32.394 million tons; Universal rolled products down 9% to 28.957 million tons.
