AK Steel Announced a Net Loss of US$230.4 Million for The Fourth Quarter of 2012

Ohio-based AK Steel announced a net loss of US$230.4 million for the fourth quarter of 2012, which were worse than a net loss of US$60.90 million in a quarter ago and US$193.9 million in the same period of a year ago.

In the fourth quarter of 2012, AK Steel’s sales volumes of steel products totaled 1.406 million tons, lower than 1.409 million tons in the same period of 2011 and its sales incomes amounted to US$1.42 billion, falling from US$1.51 million in the fourth quarter of a year ago.

AK Steel stated that its selling prices averaged at US$1,011/ton in the fourth quarter of 2012, down by 6% year on year.
