Taipei,Oct.12,2012--To beef up bilateral trade with the EU,the Bureau of Foreign Trade(BOFT)has instructed the Taiwan External Trade Development Council(TAITRA)to hold one-on-one buyer-supplier meetings,dubbed"2012 Trade with the EU"and the first of its kind,on Oct.24 in Taipei.
TAITRA has invited 85 enterprises from 18 EU nations to the event that will consist of 840,30-min.-each one-on-one meetings between EU buyers and local manufacturers.
So far 341 manufacturers have registered with TAITRA to participate,with most engaged in petrochemicals,plastics,textiles,automotive vehicles&parts,machinery,metal products,LCD panels,and telecom.
TAITRA says representatives of EU members trade offices in Taipei and chiefs of procurement offices of European companies on the island will also be invited.
Each EU buyer will meet 10 local manufacturers,each of whom will meet three EU buyers.
