According to data released by the Chilean construction chamber (CChC), Chile’s rebar shipments totaled 49,269 tons in March, falling by 6.4% from a month ago and decreasing by 6.6% year on year. In the first quarter of this year, the country’s rebar shipments amounted to 161,367 tons, increasing by 3.4% from the previous quarter and rising by 7.3% year on year. The two major rebar markers for Chilean domestic markets are CAP Acero with capacity of 1 million typ of steel longs and 720,000 typ of steel flats, and Gerdau AZA with capacity of 470,000 tons of steel longs.
