Amcor Packpyrus is also a recyclable pack. It has an oxygen barrier and is suitable for pre-sliced products like meat or cheese, the firm said.
The firm is providing Packpyrus in three versions; Packpyrus Flexible for vacuum pack base webs, as well as Packpyrus Semi-Rigid and Packpyrus Rigid for modified atmosphere base webs.
In a statement, the firm said: “The Packpyrus Flexible and Packpyrus Rigid solutions set themselves apart from the traditional cPA 80 / PE 100 and APET / PE-EVOH-PE 300 / 50 solutions by offering significant improvement in life cycle performance.
“Thanks to their lightness, use of renewable fibres and optimised manufacturing processes they offer an impressive reduction in the cradle-to-gate carbon footprint of about 70% and 60%, respectively.
“Furthermore the CEREC(French Committee for the Evaluation of Recyclability of Paper and Cardboard Packaging) recently published on its website a favourable technical assessment for two of the Amcor Packpyrus formats. "
