Spain exported textiles worth € 711.159 million in January 2013, showing a growth of 14.8 percent compared to the same month last year, according to the data released by ICEX.
The autonomous province of Catalonia accounted for € 266,973 worth of textile exports, followed by Galicia with € 251,910, Madrid with € 64,062, Aragon with € 57,966, Valencia with € 25,293 and Andalusia with € 23,785. France turned out to be the largest importer of Spanish textiles during the month with total purchase worth € 104,571, according to the data from ICEX.
Portugal, Italy and Germany were the other main destinations for Spanish textile exports and these countries imported goods worth € 77,500, € 67,972, and € 47,166, respectively. In January 2013, Spain’s textile imports too grew by 5.5 percent year-on-year to € 1.042 million.
