ArcelorMittal Announced The Temporarily Shutdown of Its Steel Plant and Rolling Mills

ArcelorMittal, the world’s biggest steelmaker, announced the temporarily shutdown of its steel plant and rolling mills in Warsaw due to weak demand.

The steel giant last week has suspended facilities in Belgium and close two idled blast furnaces in France.

It has cut operation in Europe after steel demand dropped 8%~9% last year.

Poland’s weak demand made it struggle for operation for months. In addition, illegal practices in steel trading and VAT frauds from neighbor countries restrain the market.

This shutdown period in Warsaw steel plant and rolling mill would be 9 and 11 days respectively.
