German carmaker Audi has reported sale of 111,750 vehicles across the globe in January 2013, a 16.3% growth compared to the 96,081 units sold in the same month of 2012.
The company reported an increase of 38.5% in China, 7.5% in the US and 8.6% in Europe added to the worldwide increase of the sales in the month.
Audi Sales and Marketing member of the board of management Luca de Meo said that although the general economic situation in certain European countries remains challenging, the company has managed to achieve a successful start to the year in all regions of the world.
"Our popular SUV models and the new A3 family will help to continue our pattern of growth in 2013," Meo added.
In January 2013, the company sold 37,678 units in China with a 38.5% increase against the previous year, 11.8 % rise in sales to 14,611 units was reported by the firm in Germany, while UK saw an increase of 15.3% in the sales to 9,878 units from 8,565 units sold in 2012.
The models of the carmaker including the A4, A5 and Q5 recorded combined sales of about 50,800 units with 24.6% rise in January 2013 compared to the corresponding month of 2012.
In Europe and Russia the sales increased by 8.6% and 19.8% respectively in the month compared to January 2012, where as in the US Audi increased its sales by 7.5% to 10,056 units.
