ATIRA is hosting 54th Joint Technological Conference jointly with BTRA, NITRA and SITRA. These conferences are prestigious annual features in which the latest R&D work of the Textile Research Associations is communicated to the industry.
Delegates from Industry, Institutions, Government, and Academics across India and abroad will be present in the conference. Along with the conference, a mini exhibition of recent developments of practical use in textile manufacture from the work carried out in the thrust areas is also organized. The conference is organized in the backdrop of ATIRA orients itself:-
-From being extension centre of industry to Innovation centre -To widen its engagements of industry in its operation and deliverables -To enhance its customer base of industries to other States-West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Rajasthan -To embrace future technologies and adopt them to Indian conditions
The levels of evaluation of innovation emanates from basic Research (Level 1-2), the concept Develops (Level 3-5) in to a product and through process R&D, the Technology (Level 5-7) is developed. The technology when refined and transforms in to a usable proposition, gets Commercialized (Level 8-10).
In the above levels of R&D, ATIRA strives to get the best research from across the globe and through process R&D, develops technology and gets them commercialized. Such path breaking technologies that have been recently commercialized include:
a) Enhancement of Oil Recovery from Cotton seed b) Energy efficient Ring Frame C) Reducing environment Impact through eco friendly processing. Besides ATIRA have four Centers of Excellence (COE) for Nano Textiles (first in Asia), Protective Textiles, Geo-synthetics and Composites.
