APTMA Leadership Briefed Ausberto Rodriguez Jara

In line with its image building exercise to win market access, All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) leadership briefed Ausberto Rodriguez Jara, the Ambassador of Paraguay about the strengths of textile industry in Pakistan the other day.

Central Chairman APTMA Ahsan Bashir, Head of International Trade Committee Amir Fayyaz Sheikh office bearers and other executive committee members welcomed the visiting envoy at the APTMA Punjab office.

Amir Fayyaz Sheikh highlighted the importance of textile industry and its contribution to the economy of Pakistan APTMA has recently taken vital initiatives including Sustainable Production Centre, Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency Initiative, Cotton Research, Support & Management, Textile Education and Better Cotton to improve the strength and overcome the challenges.

The Paraguay Ambassador appreciated the role of APTMA towards growth of economy in Pakistan and expressed the hope for enhanced co-operation between Paraguay and Pakistan.

He further pointed out that Paraguay is located at the heart of South America and a member of MERCOSUR. He said the Paraguay is a gateway to the markets of Argentina and Brazil. According to him, the Paraguay produces cheapest electricity through impressive hydel production capacity of 18000 MW. He said the Paraguay offers number of incentives to attract foreign investment including exemption of taxes on remittances of profits abroad and low cost electricity supply. He also invited the APTMA members to invest in Paraguay to avail the benefits.
