Turkey imported 464,667 tons of steel flat products including hot rolled, cold rolled, coated and narrow strip steel in February, decreasing by 6.1% from a month ago but jumping by 46.1% year on year, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
Meanwhile, the country’s import revenues generated by steel flat products amounted to US$308 million, falling by 5.3% month on month while rising by 27.5% year on year.
In the first two months of this year, the country’s imports of steel flat products totaled 959,723 tons, declining by 21.8% year on year.
In the given period of time, Russia was the largest exporter of steel flat products to Turkey with 209,224 tons; France was the second large one with 156,742 tons and Ukraine was the third largest one with 150,632 tons.
