LeapFrog enjoyed a healthy 40 per cent growth in March YTD, according to new data released by NPD.

The impressive figure means that LeapFrog has maintained its position as the eighth biggest toy manufacturer in the UK, with the firm outperforming the general trend in the toy sector.

A number of the top ten toy manufacturers have showed signs of slowing growth in March, however solid sales of LeapPad 2 have helped establish the children's tablet as the number four best selling product, with 86 per cent growth in March YTD.

Software sales also helped to bolster the brand's performance in March, with LeapFrog Explorer software at number seven in the market, resulting in LeapFrog having 56 per cent market share of the Pre-school Electronic Learning category.

"It's been a fantastic start to 2013 for LeapFrog with our results continuing to outperform the market," said Chris Spalding, MD and SVP for EMEA and Australasia at LeapFrog. "We are confident that our focus on market-leading innovation and our dedication to combining education and entertainment for children will see us continue our progression as a top ten toy manufacturer throughout the year."
