China Oilfield Services October 30 signed three drilling platform building contracts with Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore Co., Ltd. and China Merchants Heavy Industry (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., which include the HYSY 982, the HYSY 943 and the HYSY 944.
The HYSY 982 is the sixth-generation deepwater semi-submersible drilling unit and adopts DP3 dynamic positioning system; the platform has a designed maximum operation water-depth of 5,000 feet and a maximum drilling depth of 30,000 feet, which is predicted to be delivered in August 2016.
The HYSY 943 and the HYSY 944 will be delivered in September and October 2015.
