East China Fair (ECF) is the largest regional trade fair in China with the most traders, great variety of exhibits and the most onsite deals. With an annul 5-day session from March 1st in Shanghai, ECF is supported by Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and is co-sponsored by nine provinces and cities, such as Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Shandong Province and two cities of Nanjing and Ningbo.
East China Fair, initiated in 1991 and thereafter 24 sessions have been held successfully. The 24th ECF was held at Shanghai New International Expo Center, from March 1st to 5th, 2013, with an exhibition area of 115,000sqm. There were four specialized exhibition areas with 5,780 standard booths and 3,441 enterprises, namely Fashion/Garments, Home Textiles, Consumer Goods and Art Deco Gifts. More than 145 overseas exhibitors were from 9 countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, Iran, Malaysia, Nepal, Columbia, Western samoa, Hong Kong and Taiwan. A great variety of traditional and new products were displayed with more focus on high-tech, famous local brands. The 24th ECF had 21,433 business visitors from 117 countries and regions as well as 14,000 of their Chinese counterparts. The trade volume amounted to about 2.75 billion US dollars.
