Germany's Crude Steel Output Increased by 13.7% to 4.05 Million Mt in March

In March this year, Germany's crude steel output increased by 13.7 percent month on month to 4.05 million metric tons, rising by 6.1 percent compared to March 2013 and exceeding 4 million mt for the first time in 35 months, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). Meanwhile, in the first three months of the current year, the country's crude steel output increased by 4.3 percent year on year to 11.3 million metric tons.

On the other hand, in February this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.03 million metric tons, indicating a decrease of 1.8 percent, including 2.02 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 0.1 percent, and 1.01 million metric tons of long steel products - down five percent, all on-year-on year basis. Meanwhile, in the first two months this year, Germany's total hot rolled steel production totaled 6.05 million metric tons, increasing by 0.2 percent, including 4.02 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 1.1 percent, and 2.03 million metric tons of long steel products - down 1.4 percent, all on-year-on year basis.
