Taipei,Sept.14,2012(CENS)--Influenced by slumping global economy,the aggregate sales of Japanese brand liquid crystal display(LCD)TV decreased this year,directly impacting Taiwanese LCD TV makersa shipments,according to C.H.Liu,assistant manager of research at WitsView,the global market research company.
In addition to Pegatron Corporation,many major LCD TV makers in Taiwan,including Admiral Oversea Corporation(AOC),Hon Hai Precision Industry Co.,Ltd.,Compal Electronics,Inc.,AmTRAN Technology,Co.Ltd.,Wistron Corporation,and Briview Inc.,all suffered decreasing shipments this year.
Liu said that Pegatron had been expanding business deployment in Europe this year.With the two-million-unit order for LCD TVs from Japanese Toshiba Corporation and orders from Westinghouse Electric Corporation and Nexgen Mediatech Inc.,its cumulative annual LCD TV shipments could total three million units this year,up 100,000 units YoY,to be the only company with growing shipments among peers.
AOCas yearly LCD TV shipments reached 13.3 million units so far,leading the sector this year,despite such figure being slightly down from 13.54 million in 2011.
Due to huge demand for LCD panels,AOC has built good relations for purchase and supply with many panel makers as AU Optronics Corp.(AUO),Chi Mei Corporation,Samsung Group,BOE Technology Group,and LG Display.
