South Korean steelmaker POSCO has announced that Krakatau POSCO, its joint venture with Indonesia-based state-run steel company PT Krakatau Steel, began manufacturing coke in early October.
In October 2010, POSCO came together with PT Krakatau to start construction of a 3 million mt per year integrated steel plant in Cilegon, Indonesia. Krakatau POSCO is targeting completion of construction by the end of December this year, with construction currently 98 percent complete.
