Although demand for LCD TVs in the China market has appeared to be smaller than originally expected,demand for LED backlight units used in LCD TVs in the second half of 2012 will not shrink,according to Taiwan-based makers of LED chips.
The China government will offer subsidies on the purchase of qualifying energy-saving appliances including LED-backlit LCD TVs in the second half of 2012,and the 2012 London Olympic Games is expected to bring about additional demand for LCD TVs,Taiwan-based LED chip maker Epistar said.The situation will sustain demand for LED-backlit LCD TVs,and in turn,for LED backlight units in the second half of 2012,Epistar explained.
