Recently, the transaction prices of the blast furnace (BF) killed wire rods are expected to rise in the Taiwanese market in the near future, driven by jumped transaction prices of electric furnace (EF) killed wire rods.
In fact, the transaction prices of BF killed wire rods had ever surged to NT$23,500/ton in this May, boosted by the surged prices of electricity and oil.
However, the sluggish Taiwanese wire rod market has caused the transaction prices of BF killed wire rod drop. At present, the transaction prices of BF killed wire rods are at NT$19,500/ton in the Taiwanese market.
Industry sources pointed out that since the transaction prices of electric furnace (EF) killed wire rods have increased recently, it may help to support the BF killed wire rod prices to rise in the near future.
