Ansteel Seems to Have Noticed to Raise Almost All Its Domestic Prices of Steel Products

According to information obtained by a source, Anshan Iron & Steel Group (Ansteel) of China seems to have noticed to raise almost all its domestic prices of steel products for December shipment to each customer.

According to currently known information, the company raised its prices of hot-rolled (HR) steel coils by 130 CNY ($21), cold-rolled (CR) steel sheets by 70 CNY ($11), hot-dip galvanized steel sheets by 50 CNY ($8), steel plates by 50 CNY, electrical steel sheets (non-oriented) by 50 CNY, and steel wire rods by 110 to 200 CNY ($17 to 32) respectively from the previous month. As for pickled HR coils and full hard CR sheets, there are some unknown contents but those are said to be raised by 130 to 180 CNY ($29). Those of colored steel sheets were left unchanged.

Ansteel raised its prices for December shipment following Wuhan Iron & Steel and Baoshan Iron & Steel, and its markups of HR coils, pickled HR coils and so on are larger than those of other two companies. Following these three companies, other mills are expected to increase their prices of HR coils and so on.

China's market prices of steel products are slightly rising or left unchanged in each area because of the major mills' price increase, and there is no area to be found where such prices are dropping for the time being.
