According to data released by the Brazilian national foreign trade ministry (MDIC), the country's imports of carbon steel tubes totaled 22,072 tons in May, soaring by 24% from 17,820 tons in April and almost double from 11,544 tons in the same month of a year ago. In May, the country's imports of seamless steel tubes totaled 6,577 tons in May, surging by 190% from April; those of welded steel tubes were at 15,495 tons, down slightly from 15,549 tons in a month ago.
