While LG has been quiet on LG G5 details, Amazon is already selling the company’s latest flagship phone.
Amazon has made the new LG G5 available for pre-order in the UK. The handset is priced at £529, which isn’t exactly surprising considering the high-end hardware on offer.
Amazon also revealed the release date as April 8, 2016, which gels with widespread speculation about the launch.
LG announced the LG G5 on February 21, 2016, during its Mobile World Congress press conference.
The handset is a long-awaited successor the 2015’s LG G4, and is facing stiff competition from the new Samsung Galaxy S7.
The LG G5 features a 5.3-inch QHD display, and is powered by Qualcomm’s top-end Snapdragon 820 chip.
Other noteworthy specs include 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a microSD slot, one 16-megapixel camera and two 8-megapixel cameras, and a 2,800mAh battery.
The handset is notable for featuring a modular design; the battery can be removed thanks to a sliding lower-housing that detaches from the bottom of the device. This section can be swapped out for alternative modules like a camera grip or an audio module.
LG also included a USB-C port in the LG G5, which is a first for the company.
