Chung Hung Steel, one of the major carbon steelmakers in Taiwan announced to hike its list prices for its steel products by NT$400~NT$500/ton for December.
It’s known that the firm decided to raise the list prices for hot rolled steel products by NT$400/ton and to increase the list prices for cold rolled steel and galvanized steel products by NT$500/ton respectively.
Also, the firm increased its export prices by US$10~US$208/ton for December.
After the adjustment, Chung Hung Steel’s new prices for hot rolled steel products are at NT$17,900~NT$18,900/ton; that for cold rolled steel products is at NT$21,000~NT$22,000/ton and that for galvanized steel products is at NT$22,000~NT$22,500/ton.
Chung Hung Steel expected that the price rise could help to stimulate the demand as buyers were taking wait-and-see position even though the steel prices bottomed out.
