More than 5,000 brands, characters and images will be available for UK visitors to Licensing Expo to check out in June, with organiser Advanstar saying it will be well worth the trip for toy companies.
Almost 350 exhibitors have signed up to exhibit so far, many with larger spaces to showcase expanded brand portfolios.
More than 100 of the firms are new to the showfloor. This year, for the first time, the show will be merchandised by category into four key areas to make things easier for visitors. Half of the show will be made up of entertainment and character brands.
In 2012, the show – which runs from June 18th to 20th at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas – attracted just over 14,000 attendees, with 30 per cent of these coming from outside the US. The UK made up the largest percentage of international visitors.
"Toys and games is one of the largest categories for licensed products worldwide and Licensing Expo exhibitors represent more than 5,000 brands, characters and images available for licence," Jessica Blue, VP of Licensing Expo, told ToyNews. "This is where the toy industry can get a sneak peek of the movies, TV shows and characters that kids will want next year.
