Softwood plywood imports into the US have plunged in the course of recent months due to the stoppage of Paneles Arauco radiata pine plywood mill in Nueva Aldea after a fire.The Foreign Agriculture Service announced that softwood plywood shipments from Chile had tumbled 44%to 93,974 m^3 in the first six months of 2012 m^3;the value of these imports did not fall quite as much,ending up at US$44.5m(67m).
