Signs of the recovery were certainly in the air during the 6th Apparelsourcing show in Paris, which took place from 17 to 20 February in Paris Le Bourget. There was a great atmosphere of burgeoning activity throughout the four days of the fair, which led to high satisfaction among the 114 exhibitors from 10 countries. The exhibitors were pleased to have strengthened their business ties with buyers from France, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and the Iberian Peninsula. They were equally delighted to see German, Irish, Scandinavian, Canadian and Middle Eastern buyers returning. "We have experienced our best show here to date," says Sunil Aggarwal from Anjali Creations, a manufacturer of scarves for various ranges, on the third day of the show."
Miles Lin, head of sales at Studio Deluxe, a Chinese manufacturer of outerwear for the mid-range, explains, "We are very satisfied with the orders and calibre of the contacts we made on our first attendance".
Another returning exhibitor, Jeanne Coëffé, director of MonDéfilé Pro, is a French producer working between France and Asia stated, "We've established some excellent ties: among others, the head of sourcing for a major international organisation that we had been trying to contact in vain for quite some time." Apparelsourcing Paris has asserted its position as the main meeting place for sourcing ready-to-wear and accessories for the European market with a healthy increase in exhibitors of 60% compared with the show in February 2013. Together with Texworld, which counted 631 exhibitors from 25 countries, both exhibitions presented a diverse and high-quality offer to the 13,523 visitors from 103 countries, who came during the four days of the show. An increase of 11% was recorded in the number of visitors.
