Turkish Metal Producers' Foreign Sales Were up 15.75 Percent Compared to March 2013

According to the statistics released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), in March this year Turkish producers' foreign sales price index (PPI)* in general rose by 0.18 percent over February and was up 22.03 percent year on year, while an average rise of 12.10 percent was registered for the latest 12 months.

In March this year, the foreign sales prices of producers in the Turkish domestic basic metal industry increased by 0.51 percent on month-on-month basis and were up 15.75 percent compared to March 2013. Meanwhile, the average increase in prices for the latest 12 months was 5.05 percent.

On the other hand, in March of the current year Turkish producers' foreign sales prices for domestic manufactured metal products, except machinery, rose 0.56 percent compared to February and were up 24.98 percent year on year. Meanwhile, in the sector in question, an average increase of 13.58 percent in prices was registered in the latest 12 months.

*Foreign sales price index indicates changes in Turkish producers' prices for other countries.
