Chinese steel giant Baosteel have informed its customer to remain its tinplate domestic prices unchanged for next January, according to market insiders.
Meanwhile, it's learned that Baosteel has cancelled the special discount for certain customers for December delivery.
Therefore, the firm actually hiked the tinplate domestic prices by RMB280~RMB380/ton for December through canceling discounts even though it remained the list prices unchanged.
At the same time, the Japanese steelmakers will start the tinplate price negotiation for the next first quarter in early December.
It's said that he Japanese steelmakers have sought to raise the tinplate prices by at least US$50/ton.
