A one-off Batman-inspired Nissan Juke Nismo, built to celebrate the release of latest caped crusader film The Dark Knight Rises onto Blu-Ray and DVD,is up for grabs as part of an online competition in the UK.
Built by Nissan and based on the new Nissan Juke Nismo, the matt black(Gotham)city car, dubbed The Dark Knight Rises Juke Nismo, wears aluminium Batman-logo badges on the front grille and tailgate, unique gloss black 18-inch alloy wheels with bespoke red detailing,Batman logos on the kickplates, reflective Batman badges on the headrests of the suede-trimmed Nismo sports seats, and a shark fin aerial replacing the standard item.
In another special tweak to the sinister-looking Juke Nismo, downlights mounted under the door mirrors allow the famous Bat signal to be projected onto the floor, while another light projects the same image onto the black headlining inside the car.
Along with the themed changes to The Dark Knight Rises Juke Nismo, the standard car's Nismo traits are maintained with a Nismo bodykit, red pinstriping along the bumpers and sills,Nismo badging, uprated suspension, and the 1.6-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 147kW to the front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox for a 0-100km/h sprint time of 7.8 seconds–not quite as fast as Bruce Wayne's Lamborghini Aventador but much more environmentally friendly.
The competition winner will be announced in early March, following the base car's European launch in January 2013.
Nissan Australia CEO Bill Peffer told CarAdvice in October that Nissan would wait to see the local reaction to the standard Nissan Juke after its mid-2013 launch before looking at the viability of the Nismo variant tearing up local streets.
The Batman Juke isn't the first car this year to be altered in a nod to the superhero.A Batman-inspired Kia Optima was one of five Justice League Kia models seen?at the 2012 SEMA aftermarket show in Las Vegas in October.
