China Merchants Securities won the clearing membership of CME Group via its subsidiary China Merchants Futures (HK), opening up a channel for Chinese mainland securities companies to provide overseas commercial risk hedging products and services for bulk commodities and resources companies and breaking the monopoly of foreign financial institutions in the mainland's bulk commodities risk hedging sector.
The broker currently is building an overseas institution to prepare to provide other international commodity exchange business besides CME and aims to provide customers with global and one-stop global commodity services in the near future.
