Brazil's automotive sector turned out 301,679 units in November down by 5.3% from the previous month but a 10.5% increase from November 2011.
A vehicle-producers association said that production of cars and light commercial vehicles fell 5.4% from October levels to 285,642 units, while truck output slipped 6.8% to 11,822 units. Vehicle sales were off 8.7% in November from the previous month and by 3% interannually.
Anfavea vehicle-producers association said that Brazilian vehicle plants produced 3.08 million units in the first 11 months of the year, a decline of 2.1% from the same period in 2011.
While domestic vehicle sales from Jan 1 to Nov 30 were 4.8% higher than last year.
Brazil exported USD 1.23 billion worth of cars and trucks in November, down 10.2% from the previous month and by nearly 16% from November 2011.
Year to date vehicle exports stood at USD 13.66 billion, a decline of 8.2% from the first 11 months of 2011.
