Karachi-based Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM) has announced that it has received two shipments of 20,000 mt and 50,000 mt of iron ore, while another shipment of 50,000 mt of iron ore was being unloaded as of September 19, with all these cargoes from Mauritania. PSM also received two ships of 50,000 mt each of coking coal from Australia during September.
With the arrival of the latest ships, PSM's capacity utilization rate reached 35 percent and is expected to rise to 77 percent by January-February 2015.
PSM stated that it will receive another ship carrying 55,000 mt of iron ore by October 6 from Mauritania.
