Solid-Wood Source Home Trends & Design Moving to SALON at Suites at Market Square for October High Point Market

Home Trends & Design, a leading source for solid-wood bedroom, dining room, living room and occasional furniture, reported that it is moving its showroom to the SALON area of Suites at Market Square for the Oct. 13-18 High Point Market.

The company, which had a temporary space in Showplace for the April market, will be exhibiting in a 2,128-square-foot showroom in Space M-0837 at the October High Point show. Home Trends & Design will be an anchor in the new SALON expansion directly above the original SALON area on the Mezzanine Floor.

"We're very excited about our new location," said Hank Cravey, CEO and cofounder of the company along with Dhaval Lodhavia, who oversees product design. "You can see us to the right-front as you come up the escalator, so we'll be very visible."

Julie Messner, vice president of leasing for International Market Centers, said by expanding the SALON venue this market, IMC was able "to add innovative, fashion-forward companies like Home Trends & Design to to this area that is known for showcasing the latest product introductions and new resources for the industry."

During the October market, Home Trends & Design will feature three new collections, according to Cravey. The first collection is Bergman, a line of mid-priced sofas and chairs inspired by Old World, European designs. Details include overstuffed rolled arms, elegantly tufted upholstery, rolled piping and hand-nailed trim.

The second collection being featured is SoCo, named after the popular South Congress district of Austin, Texas, where Home Trends & Design is based. Highlights of this collection include one-of-a-kind chairs made from reclaimed materials such as silk and teak.

In addition, the company will be showing recent expansions to its French Vintage line of classic, French-inspired case goods and accent furniture.

Home Trends & Design once again was named to the prestigious Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies for 2012, and the company also earned a spot on the Austin Business Journal's Fast 50 list of fastest-growing local companies in 2011.

Home Trends & Design is one of the founding members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, a group of manufacturers that promotes eco-friendly practices. The company's philosophy leads it to use primarily mango and acacia trees for its solid-wood furniture, as well as reclaimed wood from other sources, coated in water-based finishes.

In February, Home Trends & Design moved to a new corporate headquarters in Austin, Texas, doubling the size of its warehouse to 61,000 square feet. The company sources its line primarily from Southeast Asia.
