When ISPO MUNICH opens its doors from February 3rd to 6th, 2013, the trade show once again offers its visitors plenty of opportunities to expand their know how, gain new inspiration and actively maintain their professional network with the help of a plethora of presentations, platforms and events.

The trade shows bundles seminars, training, presentations and workshops as well as informative and training sessions under one roof at the ISPO Academy (East Entrance EO.03/C31-C32). On Sunday, February 3rd, trainees from the sporting goods industry get an opportunity to visit ISPO MUNICH as part of the ISPO Trainee Project.
The goal of the ISPO Trainee Project is to not only provide trainees with an overview of sports retail, but to make it easier for them to further their careers in the sector. Additional highlights of the ISPO Academy include presentations on Monday, February 4th, by KD Waltner of the design agency Backflip 180 Limited on “The China Design Team Challenge”, by Mayouri Sengchanh, Exalis GmbH: “Trends Fall/Winter 2014/15: Inspirations, Colors, Shapes, Materials, Key Looks”, and by Patrick Schmidt, LIGANOVA: “POS In The Digital Age – Experience Brands, Open Brands”.
The panel discussion entitled “Online Retail – Opportunity or Threat for Outdoor Brands” (hall A6.425), also promises to deliver interesting results.
Companies and experts from the sports and healthcare industries will get together at the ISPO Healthstyle Action Point (hall C1.121). An exciting all-day program on each of the four trade show days offers opportunities to gain information on the extensive selection of products and services on the Healthstyle market, to test some of it first hand, and to expand ones own network. Eight expert panels will discuss current issues from the segments Products and Services, Education and Training, Fitness Market and Apps. Professional trainers and entrepreneurs will present trends from the fitness sector during the daily fitness program.
The ISPO Performance Point (B4.301) is the meeting point for experts and athletes from the Performance segment. Yet another multi-faceted side event program with prominent guests and industry-related shows, presentations and panel discussions offers plenty of information and entertainment.
For more than ten years the ISPO Shop Summit (A1.216) has been the gettogether for all members of the snowboard industry. Whether you are a retailer, dealer, or brand, the ISPO Shop Summit offers the ideal platform for information, inspiration and networking. The expert presentation on Sunday, February 3rd on the topic “Mobile User Behavior by Consumers” adds even more value for shop owners and sales professionals.
Special Exhibits & Events
The ISPO AWARDs Exhibit (A6.518, B3.405, B3.122B) provides a comprehensive overview of the most innovative products from the sporting goods industry. The ISPO AWARD winners are selected by an independent jury. This is the first time there are also awards for the Marketing segment, for creative communication projects revolving around sports, and Asian Products, a platform for up and coming sporting goods brands from Asia. Furthermore, the winners and finalists of the sports business’ largest newcomer’s competition present their innovations at the ISPO BRANDNEW (C2.101/500) exhibit area.
In addition to these two industry-overlapping exhibits there are a number of special exhibits covering product highlights from the various industry sectors. This year, the Nordic XC Ski Village (A5.328) celebrates its premiere, hosting 20 Nordic manufacturers presenting the cross-country highlights for next season. The Shoe Village (B6.324) is also a new feature.
This is where visitors can expect a focused overview of the footwear trends for 2013/2014, complimentary internet access as well as small snacks. The SUP Area (A3.135) covers the SUP watersports trend, hosting brands presenting their latest products and athletes demonstrating their skills in the Test Pool. 7Sky Inspire: GreenRoomVoice & BrandsForGood (A2.105) inspire with social projects and the latest trends for ecologically correct and sustainably produced products from the Action Sport and Outdoor segments.
Another premiere is The Long board Embassy (A2.310 and 512). More than 70 brands present the sport of skateboard long boarding on over 400 square meters of exhibit space.
Yet even more action promises the HAULING A$$ETS Miniramp Contest (A2.323), hosted by board sports brand Volcom, offering 6000 € in cash prizes. A must for the Outdoor and Ski industry is also the ISPO Get-Together on Monday, beginning at 6 pm in the East Entrance area.
