Sindall Transport Is Crediting Its Oil Provider with The Longevity of Its Engines.

Sindall Transport, a carrier that traces its history to the 1950s when it hauled hay and balers between Pennsylvania and Ontario, is crediting its oil provider with the longevity of its engines.

Sindall says one fifth of its engines now have more than a million miles of service. It's been using Chevron Delo 400 15W-40 engine oils and Delo Extended Life Coolant in its fleet for 16 years.

"They stay on the road in top condition thanks to Delo," said Doug Sindall, who runs the fleet. "We have 29 trucks, many with one million miles plus without an overhaul."

Recently Sindall mechanics tore down one of the company's oldest Cat C-15 engines after 1.1 million miles of use. Master mechanic Harry Kline said the interior of the engine was in "incredible" condition.

There were only minor carbon deposits inside the cylinders and on the valves.

"The camshaft – there was no sign of wear," Kline said. "We're going to reinstall it back in the engine."
