Pro Mach has acquired US-based rotary labeling, serialization and coding solutions provider, Weiler Labeling Systems.
Weiler is engaged in the development and manufacture of high-speed and technologically advanced pressure-sensitive labeling machines for pharmaceutical, food, beverage, personal care and consumer markets.
The company provides labeling, coding, inspection and precision-manufactured systems for its customers.
The acquisition will enable Pro Mach to expand its capabilities in the complex serialization, documentation, and factory acceptance testing (FAT) areas of pharmaceutical and medical packagers.
Recently, Weiler has launched a new integrated label serialization system, which can pre-code bottles during handling.
With the support of an advanced vision recognition systems, bottles can be registered on a rotary labeler, while serialized label codes are linked with the bottle tracking codes.
Bottles will be combined by re-acquiring pre-printed tracking codes in final packaging.
Under the deal, Weiler president Ted Geiselman Geiselman will join Pro Mach as vice president and general manager.
Geiselman said: “Pro Mach’s reputation for continued investment in their brands as well as bundling solutions to better serve customers played a big part in getting this deal done.”
Pro Mach President and CEO Mark Anderson said: “We’re delighted about the unique advantages Weiler solutions bring, especially when combined with our vast product portfolio that starts at the filler and runs all the way to the end of the packaging line.”
In September 2016, Pro Mach acquired another US firm Pacific Packaging Machinery, which provides precision-engineering, rotary and inline liquid filling and capping machines for the customers.
Pro Mach produces and integrates solutions for the filling, primary and secondary packaging, pharmaceutical packaging and labeling and coding segments.
